TWISTED RING - PROJECT SHEET
A simple combination of techniques for an understated but effective design in square profile wire. Create a ring with a curving continuous pattern and an invisible join. Filing down one side of the wire to make a comfortable fit and fashioning some bespoke sanding tools to work with it’s contours.
To complete this project you will need:
MATERIALS
Square wire in your choice of diameter. The example uses 2mm square
Cocktail or kebab sticks
Old round pencil or paintbrush handle
Double sided tape
TOOL KIT ESSENTIALSSoldering kit
Vice (or extra pair of flat pliers)
Flat nose, chain nose or rosary pliers. If you have pliers with serrated jaws they will help you grip securely.
Bench peg
Piercing saw and blades
Ruler
Flat or half round 6 inch file
Half round and/or round cut 4 needle files
Dividers
Scribe
Fine emery papers, 1200 grit or thereabouts.
