Torch Fired Enamel Flowers - 13th February
An introduction to the art of dry sifted, torch fired enamel on copper.
Learn to dry sift glass powders onto copper sheet and fire to create smooth layers of intense colour. This class is perfect if you are new to enameling and want to explore the technique or you have some experience and want to explore torch firing your work. A great way of achieving beautiful enamel pieces with investing in a kiln. You'll make a selection of samples and a layered enamel flower or two although if you have an idea for a different project we can work with that.

Who is this class suitable for?
Beginners to intermediate makers
What will I make?
In the morning you will create a range of bespoke samples and experimental pieces in enamel on copper. Exploring the technique and playing with colour. In the afternoon you make a set of enamel flowers and layer then together on a copper stem. If you have another project you'd like to create let us know.
What will I learn?
You will learn to shape and clean copper sheet. You'll learn to apply layers of glass powder using a dry sifting technique and to fire the pieces to fuse the materials together use a simple hand held butane jewellery torch.
What is included?
All tools, equipment and materials for the class are provided. More materials will be available to buy at the class if desired.
