Silver Clay With Vintage Press Moulds - 4th April
Silver clay starts a soft and mouldable material and can be torch or kin fired to create a piece of solid silver. It's magical. You'll work with our wide selection of vintage Indian press moulds to create a selection of charms, pendants or earrings. Using the mould to create decorative forms and designs in your clay. You'll learn how to work with, fire and finish the clay to create something beautiful.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Who is this class suitable for?
Beginners or more experienced makers who would like an introduction to using silver clay and press moulding. No previous experience in silver clay, silver smithing or jewellery making is required.

You will make a set of charms, a pendant or earrings. You'll have 7 grams of silver clay to use as you choose.
What will I learn?
You will learn about the properties and techniques required to work with silver clay. How to prepare the clay and mould to get a clean impression, dry the clay ready for sintering and how to fire it with a butane hand torch to transform it from a pliable clay to a piece of solid silver. You'll learn how to refine and finish your work and polish, burnish or oxidise for a beautiful result.
What is included?
All tools and equipment are provided. All tools and equipment are included. A block of polymer clay, to practice with, and 7g of silver metal clay are provided, along with a necklace chain and jump rings to attach the charms. Extra silver metal clay will be available to buy on the day.
