SHOOTING STAR STUD EARRINGS - PROJECT SHEET

A twinkly firework inspired earring set. Learn how to make a simple stud earring, embellished with a more flamboyant back piece to create the shooting star trail. You can mix up the different templates to create a bespoke design and as long as you are precise with your saw piercing you can decorate the surface of each element however you choose. 
 
To complete this project you will need:
 
MATERIALS
•    Sheet metal - silver, gold, brass or copper. 0.5mm - 1.2mm. 
•    Ready made ear pins or 0.8mm round fully hard wire
•    Scroll studs - to fit pins or wire

TOOL KIT ESSENTIALS
•    Piercing saw, bench peg and 2/0 blades
•    Selection of needle files - square, triangular and half round
•    Emery paper in 800 grit and 1200 grit or thereabouts. 
•    Drill or hole punch pliers
•    Soldering kit
•    Flat nose pliers
•    Texturing hammer
•    Finishing media of choice
