January / February Closed Edge Gemstone Setting - Tuesday mornings
Add stone set styles to your jewellery work. This six week, Tuesday morning, course focuses on teaching you the techniques to set gemstones in closed edge setting such as bezel setting, tube settings, flush and their variations.
You can choose to focus on learning and experimenting with the techniques or creating some more finished pieces.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Who is this class suitable for?
This course is suitable for intermediate to advanced level jewellers. You must have completed, at least, our level one course or equivalent and be confident sawing, soldering, finishing and polishing independently. Please get in touch with us if you want to check this course is suitable for you.
What will I make?
A selection of sample pieces exploring and refining technique. You will have space, time and support to use the stone setting methods within your own design if you wish to.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to work with cabochon and faceted gemstones and how to set them in tube, bezel and flush settings and their variations. This course does not cover basic skills or fabrication of jewellery pieces but you will be supported in how to incorporate the settings into your designs.
What is included?
Tools and equipment are provided though you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. A CZ stone will provided for you to learn each technique but you may wish to bring your own stones to set. Stones, silver and tools will be available to buy at the class if required.
