Enamelling With Graphite - 20th June
Learn to dry sift glass powders onto copper sheet and fire to create smooth layers of intense colour. Use an acid to etch and matt the surface of the enamel and add detail and pattern with pencil and graphite powder which is then fired again to fix the graphite design to the enamel and make it permanent.

Who is this class suitable for?
Beginners to intermediate makers
What will I make?
You will create a range of bespoke samples and experimental pieces in enamel on copper. You may choose to make your pieces into simple earrings or pendants.
What will I learn?
You will learn to shape and clean copper sheet. You'll learn to apply layers of glass powder and to kiln fire the pieces to fuse the materials together. You'll explore how to prepare the enamel surface and add pencil decoration, pattern, text and detail. If you wish to turn your samples into wearable pieces instruction will be offered.
What is included?
All tools, equipment and materials for the class are provided. More materials will be available to buy at the class if desired.
