Creating Texture With Reticulation - 26th September
Create rippling, undulating surfaces and tactile, juicy textures in sterling silver. In this class you will learn to reticulate sterling silver - preparing the metal and using a blow torch to control the process to get a variety of effects. You can choose to turn your freshly reticulated metal into pendant or earrings .

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Who is this class suitable for?
Jewellers at any level - complete beginner to more experience jewellers
What will I make?
You will make a reticulated piece of silver which can be made into a pendant or earrings. You have 4cm x4cm silver to play with so the design and how you work with the metal is up to you.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to prepare the sterling silver for the reticulation using a process called depletion gilding. You'll learn how to use a focussed flame to add texture to your silver and ripple the surface. If you need it, there will be instruction on how to turn your reticulated metal into a wearable piece of jewellery to your own design.
What is included?
All tools and equipment are provided. Your class fee includes enough silver to explore reticulation and create a project or two small ones. 4cm x 4cm 1mm thick sterling silver, 20cm of 1mm silver wire and an 18" trace chain.
