Five Favourite Nottingham jewellers

We are so lucky ion Nottingham to be surrounded by wonderful makers, creatives and artists. And lots them are jewellers too. We love being part of a whole community of tool loving, workshop living, dirty fingered metal smiths. Hooray for jewellers in all their glory. Here are some of our favourites. All a stones throw from the NJS workshop.

BONEARROW

A celebration of the strange, an ode to the odd, making magic in metal for misfits, weirdos and witches. Imbued with elements of ritual magic and gothic symbolism, each piece of Bonearrow jewellery is more than an accessory; it's a potent spell.

Bonearrow is in Nottingham's Sneinton Market and we love the way she weaves narrative and stories in her distinctive and dark style. It's truly unique and so beautifully made.

CAMPFIRE AND COMPASS

Riley's nature and outdoors inspired designs came from a desire to shut off the chatter of daily life, get back to nature and remember what’s important.

The beauty of the outdoors can be so enchanting and thought-provoking that it inspires a sense of calm wonderment. Riley replicates elements of nature into his designs creating hand-crafted jewellery inspired by the wild and mystical and an appreciation of the Earth, so that we might remember what’s important– simply that we are nature.

Riley works from his studio in Beeston and we love the authenticity and soul he puts into every single piece.

LAUREN BELL-BROWN

Lauren creates unique handcrafted lost wax cast pieces of jewellery, embellished with ethically sourced gemstones, or handcrafted textile florals dedicated to her interpretations of the original tellings of 19th century fairytales and her collection of antique floral and gilded timeworn book covers these tales are found within.

Lauren creates her ethereal and delicate work in her Woodthorpe workshop and we love her confident combination of richly decorative but also enchantingly contemporary styles.

JANE FROST JEWELLERY

Handcrafted Tactile Jewellery from a Curious Mind, Jane creates jewellery in her North Nottingham studio that is more than just ornamental - it's treasure, made to be cherished. Jane’s eclectic inspirations can come from anywhere, at any time. From the shape and motion of the sea to the angles of pitched roofs in a coastal fishing village, to specimens from the fossil record to Victorian clockwork mechanisms, she is both inspired and affected by diverse subjects. Jane’s designs often pick up on the minutest of details. We love the tiny worlds she creates and the stories she weaves through them.

We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such talented and inspiring jewellers and we can't wait to show you more of them. If you know a jeweller that we should know about then let us know.
