                                                Summer School 2022

Our summer schools provide an intensive and in depth week spent in our wonderful workshop. They provide 25 hours workshop time - Monday to Friday 10.30 - 3.30 exploring and experimenting with different tools, techniques and designs.

You'll learn new skills day by day and be given projects to practice on as well as plenty of time and support to work on your own ideas and designs.

This year we have summer schools available for a range of abilities and experience levels and each week will focus on different making methods so you can join us for one, two or even all three.

Beginners Level One Summer School: 8th - 12th August

Modelled on our most popular six week course, this course is suitable for beginners and makers with no jewellery or silver smithing experience. You'll learn saw piercing, filing, polishing, soldering, drilling, forming and shaping to create a range of simple pendants, earrings,  rings and bangles.

Intermediate Level Two Summer School week one: 15th - 19th August

Improve and advance your skills. This week is suitable for jewellers with a little bit of workshop experience - with us or somewhere else. You'll learn sweat soldering, pick soldering and paste soldering, reticulation, granulation and fusing, riveting and working in non-traditional materials and try your hand at enamelling. You might make layered studs or cufflinks, heat texture earrings and pendants, a riveted brooch or articulated necklace and a enamelled bracelet.

Intermediate Level Two Summer School week two: 22nd - 26th August

A second week to improve and advance your skills with a new selection of techniques. Meet Heidi our new hydraulic press and make some three dimensional pressed forms, learn to bezel set an irregular faceted cabochon in fine silver, explore adding beads using headpin, bead links, threading and stringing and learn to create your own handmade chains and findings.
