Sand Casting: Stone In Place Casting - 12th October

In this one-day class you will learn how to make a basic model in wax to cast from, how to pack and prepare a delft clay sandcasting mould and how to position your gemstone/s for casting. You will then learn how weigh and measure out the silver needed, and cast your piece with molten metal to create your ring with the gems already set in place.

Who is this class suitable for?

Previous sand cast experience is not essential but is preferable.

What will I make?

You will  make an orgainic looking solid sterling silver sand cast ring with synthetic genstones.

What will I learn?

You will learn to carve a simple wax ring to cast from and how to pack a mould for sand casting, how to place the gems into the mould for casting in place to make a finished ring with a gem stone already set. You will also learn how to refine your finished ring for a beautiful result.

What is included?

All tools and equipment are provided. Enough silver to make one ring and one gem stone is included in the class fee with more available to buy on the day.

    • Your booking fee secures your place - we cannot reserve places without payment. 

    • If we cancel or alter the content, time or location of a class you will be offered a full refund or the option to switch to another class. 

    • You have the statutory 14 days to cancel or amend your booking. After this time a 50% refund or the option to switch to another class will be offered, if cancelled more than one month before the class.

    • No refunds or exchanges will be offered less then one month before the class commences.
