Who is this class suitable for?
All ability levels - complete beginners right up to professional makers
What will I make?
You will create a series of experimental pieces throughout the first half of the class. In the afternoon you can choose to either work to create earrings or simple pendants or set or, if you prefer, to continue playing and exploring the techniques.
What will I learn?
You will learn to clean and prepare the aluminium. You explore applying dyes and inks in a variety of methods to create beautiful bright designs. You'll learn how to heat bond the inks into the aluminium surface to fix your designs and make them permanent. If you choose to, you will be able to gently dome and shape the metals or use a piercing saw to shape your designs.
What is included?
All tools, equipment and materials are provided. Base metal ear wires and chain are included. Silver ear wires and chain will be available to purchase on the day.
