Enamelling With Transfers
Learn to apply layers of powdered glass to copper and fuse to make glossy colourful layers. Then decorate with digital ceramic transfers. There is an extra charge of £25 for an A5 sheet of transfers made using your own images. Transfer images must be received by August 7th to be ready for the class. There will be plenty of transfers available to practice with at the class.

Wax Carving
The first day will be spent carving, shaping, texturing and forming wax models. These will be then be sent to our casters and cast into solid sterling silver. On the second day you will clean, refine and polish your casts. You must be available for both days.
The cost of silver will be calculated based on the weight of your wax piece. The silver cost is not included in your class fee.

Bezel Set Seaglass
Set a piece of beach found sea glass in a frame of fine silver. You learn to form and shape the bezel frame and use a gas torch to solder it in place. You'll add the findings and fixings to turn your setting into a ring, pendant or earrings and learn how to form the silver bezel to hold the stone securely. You'll burnish and polish the surface for a beautiful sheen to complement the sea glass.
Your class fee includes enough silver to complete the project. There will be plenty of sea glass to choose from on the day or you are welcome to bring your own pieces to work with.

Traditional Stone Setting
You will be introduced to a variety of traditional stone setting techniques. Choose to try your hand at a selection of styles or focus on completing one finished setting during the day. The class will guide and support you in selecting and using tools correctly to get the highest quality results.

Introduction To Silver Smithing
A taster session in silver smithing. You'll spend the morning learning the foundation skills of saw piercing, filing, soldering, finishing and polishing. You'll then have some one to one tuition time to discuss ideas and designs before moving on to create you own piece of sterling silver jewellery. Bring your own designs and ideas or choose from one of our project sheets on the day. The class includes enough silver to make a simple piece. More silver is available to buy on the day.

Alternative Stone Setting
Learn a selection of alternative stone setting techniques. You'll also have the chance to explore cutting a soft stone to fit. Basic jewellery making foundation skills are required to complete this workshop.

Keum Boo
The ancient Korean art of Keum Boo is a wonderful technique to fuse 24ct gold to fine silver.
Working with pre-cut shapes you will learn how to apply the 24ct gold through heating and burnishing to create a permanent bond. You will then be able to texture your piece with various silversmithing tools and rolling mills. After you are happy with the texture you will finish your piece using tools and polishers for a bright or patinated finish. Price includes materials for up to four pieces. If time allows you may create another (materials will cost extra).
